Abstract
“Matsuda Maruko” is the graduation work completed in June, 2007 by Huang Fei-Lin, a graduate of Graduate School of Applied Media Arts in National Taiwan University of Arts.
The documentary is about Matsuda Maruko(Teddy Chien), a drag queen in Taiwan. The film appears the drag performance in Taiwan. “Matsuda Maruko” also provides the issue of how the drag performer exposes him/herself and the identity within.
The total length of this documentary film shot by the digital camera is 55 minutes. It takes more than 30 months from the compilation to the finish. The research paper is mainly recording the making progress of the film and also self-criticism. Furthermore, it also records how the director comes up the difficulty and how to solve them respectively.
