The Prélude, Choral et Fugue is one of the Franck’s most famous piano works, sufficiently presenting his distinguished compositional style, like cyclic form and chromaticism. This paper consists of both a study of historical references and an analysis of the Prélude, Choral et Fugue so that it can be performed in an original and scholarly context.
