"Contemplation – Study of Ink Painting of Sea and Mountain in Northern Taipei" as the theme of creation came from my deep feelings for the surroundings and the scenes here, including its culture atmosphere and its scenery from my living experience in New Taipei City. The nature scenery nearby surrounded me and offered me to observe the changes of nature. The traditional ink painting demonstrates the most serene view. First, I use the sketch to outline the nature scenery. Second, I use my imagination to depict the natural scenery with a subtle understanding to return to the nature.

This thesis comprises six chapters: Chapter I is the introduction, describing my motivation, purpose, scope and methods; Chapter II is my research theme- objective descriptions of the New Taipei City history, culture, geographical location and natural landscape; Chapter III is my concept for contemplation Ink painting and aesthetic exploration on Lao’s philosophy "Let It Be", "Inaction" and "Indisputable" and aesthetic theory; Chapter IV is to express my painting thoughts and ideas about ink painting of Northern Taiwan scenery; Chapter V is my implementation of ink painting to express my research experience, work analysis and Chapter VI, the conclusion, includes my personal experience and future expectation-to look, to listen, to read, to paint and to work hard for the unknown future.
