I have always been interested in art ; however, I was not formally educated until I entered the Art college. The concepts of art I learned at this prestigious art school has totally changed my previous ideas about art. When I tried to figure out which theme could be close to me and could also arouse my interest, it occurred to me why not talk about the ordinary “everyday-life" in an artistic way?
Using "Everyday-life" as a theme is nothing new! In different times, people see everyday-life differently. Everyday-life is no longer just a theme about a painting that hangs on your wall. Artists tried to change the everyday-life with art and change the art with daily items. To artists, everyday-life seems to have more possibilities . For many artists, everything in daily life is the best nutrient for artistic creation. Due to their keen feelings, they sublimate ordinary life to art. In this dissertation, I will discuss the transformation of the meaning of daily life art, and talk about in abstract art, how artists express meanings in different ways and how they inspire me.
In the end, I will turn to my paintings created from university to graduate school to discuss how abstract paintings inspired me and how I used this as a starting point to reproduce everyday-life. I use “Transformation of Everyday-life“ as the topic, trying to discuss and analyze the color, line, symbol and other shaping elements in the paintings from different disciplines such as chromatology and visual psychology.
I believe in this way“everyday-life" inspires conversation between the artist and audience. It generates mutual experience through perception of the audience and pushes back to everyone's daily life, providing new meanings and possibilities.
