Kurt Weill was one of the outstanding composers of the twentieth century, and a key figure in the development of modern forms of musical theatre. He has created many dramatic works and Broadway musicals, and have incorporated jazz and cabaret styles in his works. Marie Galante, a novel written by Jacques Deval in 1931, Weill and Deval, together with adapted Marie Galante and premiered the work at Théâtre Hébertot.

This research discusses the creative background of Marie Galante, including the introduction of both Kurt Weill and Jacques Deval and their playwriting styles, as well as analyzes the four songs of Marie Galante.
