This art project takes the imagery of a "moonlit night" as the theme of its ink and wash art research, and focuses on artistic creation featuring the inherent spirit of nature and of the subject. The works uphold an aesthetic perspective characterized by the unity of nature and humans, and convey aesthetic imagery addressing what is seen, thought, realized, and felt humanely via their formal content, as they pursue an ideal artistic state.

This project contains seven chapters, of which the first chapter attempts to deepen the artist's endowment of artistic spirit via the painting experiences and theories of former artists, trends in contemporary artistic thinking, and the artist's painting and observations. The second chapter reviews moonlit nights' natural phenomena, traditional legends, and influence on art. The third chapter explores the cultural associations of moonlit nights and the thoughts they evoke in artists and writers. The fourth chapter investigates aesthetic theory, and chiefly compares and briefly analyzes the forms, substance, and selection of topics in Eastern and Western artistic thinking about moonlit nights, which provides an artistic framework. The fifth chapter relies on realization, imagination, and creative thinking to explore the aesthetic value of "unity and mind and the material world." The sixth chapter analyzes the works, including their concepts and the impressions they give, and uses the (1) Moonlight series, (2) Poetic series, and (3) Vision series to transmit aesthetic imagery from the mind. The seventh chapter presents conclusions, and offers reflections on this creative project and prospects for future art.

Through three series of ink and wash paintings, the Moonlit Night project combines observations of nature, experiences of life, and humane concern with the artist's writings, and creates a new personal realm in ink and wash art.
