Nowadays, everyone has their own relationships. However, personality is made by the acquired experience. Everyone has different life experience and different values, so that the relationships between each other is not easy to control. Therefore, this thesis focuses on distance of relationships. Hoping that the purpose of the artworks can inspire people. This thesis discusses “location-based services” based on three pieces of artworks: <Wish that I could tell you>, <Comfort zone>, and <Sweet or jealous> attempt to carry out the conversion between real distance and virtual distance, and describing the discomfort of the relationships.

The first artwork, <Wish that I could tell you>, let the artwork itself be the ‘self’ of the relationships. This artwork makes a lonely atmosphere, showing the desire of being close to friend, but fearing for too close. In this artwork, someone plays a role that trying to contact the ‘self’. By observing the changing of distance, people can move inside of the active area of the artwork.

The second artwork, <Comfort Zone>, discussed the “Self” of the relationships. It attempts to describe the incompatibility of relationships for some people. When people be kind to treat them well, it will make these people feel uneasy and afraid.

The third artwork, <Sweet or Jealous>, assigns the ‘self’ and ‘object’ of the relationships to people. It tries to describe the friendship between the two and the threesomes. Two people are sweet. Three people are jealous, because it will make the other one be lonely.
