《From Nothing to Something - YE Liang-Ting Solo Exhibition》Explore the Relationship Between Ego and the External Environment's Cover

Temporarily unlisted

During the period of development, we are constantly influenced by the people, events, and things around us, which leads us to know ourselves and shape our self-image. Over time, being disciplined by social norms, the primitive self is slowly disappearing. Is that still the original self? This paper will start from this question and discuss a series of ego-related questions. The purpose is to explore how to recognize the process of self-discovery and how to perceive the original self. Who is the image that appears in the mirror? Is there a variety of selves in the inner being? What is the connection between the environment and myself?

In this essay, the author will analyze three works from the 2022 solo exhibition "From Nothing to Something - YE Liang-Ting Solo Exhibition", which are organized into three stages: "Self-Cognition", "Internal Cognition", and "Environmental Cognition". The purpose of the paper is to explore the process of life experience, in which the emotions gradually become numb to the surroundings and eventually become emotionless. The paper is divided into five chapters, which are organized in a retraced method, and the process of creating three different digital media, and based on the concept of "the mirror stage" and "the Ego and the Id", reconsidering the relationship between ego and the external environment. Through the presentation of the digital artworks, the author attempts to arouse the original senses that have been numbed for a long time.
