Nature, touching the author most commonly and deeply in the daily life, is the focus of this discussion. The word “nature” is the phenomena of the physical world collectively as opposed to humans or human creations. In artistic creations, nature also has the meaning of being direct and submissive. It is to follow the moment and to express one’s character in its own way. Shift, through moving and transitioning, was the process of this creation. This thesis divided shift into two kinds, “Direct Shift” and “Indirect Shift”. The former reflected the author’s mind instinctively and subconsciously and realized wishes and imaginations, through this reflection, in the real world. The later was an emotional shifting phenomenon created by imagination and the mental state of the moment.

The author categorized artworks in this thesis into three aspects according to their contents and features to display the progress of the creation. They are “Picture, Shift of Form”, “Image, Shift of Space” and “Mind, Shift of Emotion”. Following the statement, “The nature of painting is the reflection of personality of the painter.” the author would like to understand and face life and myself in every moment and therefore, to go freely on my painting. It would be an enjoyment, and a state of nature.
