“Worship Mazu insanely in March” was a famous Religious activity in Taiwan. Especially in the 23rd of March in Lunar calendar, the culture of the temple fair was just like the epitome before the birth of Mazu. We could see diverse features clearly such as Taiwanese religion, art, humanities from this big event.

This image creation is based on Mazu Pilgrimage Procession. The researcher carried out the field survey by observing this sacred nine days and eight nights Da-Jia Pilgrimage Procession. The photo creations were followed by the notion of creativity and the connotative performance of folk customs. It was shown in three different classes which were single image, series imagine and fluorescent pigment. It tries to connect with the god and people’s emotion. First, the researchers analyzed the literatures to define the essence of Documentary photography, understand the basic of frame and realize the basic rules of the photo-taking. The content was arranged through image recording and the interaction with believers and locals. It also realized the meaning and spirit of folk customs and fully understood Da-Jia Mazu Pilgrimage Procession. It also could manifest the value of the culture. Through this sacred event, it could show the warmth and friendliness in Taiwan.
