Professor Mao-Shuen Chen (b. 1936) is a Taiwanese composer and musician who has been immersed himself in music since his childhood, which made path for his career in music. He is committed to the combination of oriental and western culture with a wide array of works, including overtures, symphonic poems, symphonies, concertos, chamber music, piano songs…etc. In Education, he even founded the Wach School of Music, providing students with professional and diversified training. He also claimed the 17th National Award for Arts in 2013.
These abstract studied Professor Mao-Shuen Chen’s four art songs whicht were extracted from Aria and Khitan's Rose by Mu-Rong Xi, and Ti ti ta.Along with On a windy night by Kwang-Chung Yu (1928-2017). It will help to understand the background of these poems in interpreting music. The whole text has five chapters: first -the introduction, motive and purpose of the study on thoes poems, second-the introduction of the composer and the poets, third-tones, interpretations of the songs and music, The last-conclusion.
