Environmental crises are not issues that have only just arisen in recent years. Most people believe that these hazards will only culminate in the distant future. As a result, people view environmental crises with an attitude of indifference, which only causes problems to worsen. This work, Moving Landscape, a 360-degree interactive video installation, utilizes a ring installation of video imagery, linked images, interactive programs, an interactive hand wheel platform, and audio-visual elements of surrounding landscapes to convey hyper-realistic imagery constructed by real landscapes and man-made objects. These include mountains, rivers, wetlands, bridges, buildings, signs, high-voltage towers, oil refineries and other mixed landscapes. Through an interactive narrative, an opposing relationship between technology and nature is presented. When a viewer enters the installation, they can use the interactive interface to move forward or backward via operation of the hand wheel. From this interaction, they are able to observe beautiful images of scenery while moving at high speeds. However, when the viewer slows down their pace, they discover that these scenes are actually filled with factories, smokestacks, and pollution.

In the introduction, this paper will explain the context, motivation, purpose, and methods for the research and creation of this work. The literature analysis section includes the processes and characteristics of development for the 360° ring installation, as well as the issue of environmental crises and other relevant works. Drawing on creative concepts and features, the hyper-realistic imagery, black and white landscapes, 360 ° of immersive space, interactive interfaces, interactive narrative systems, and speed and timing elements are each discussed to convey the creative ideas and methods involved for the creation of Moving Landscape. By reflecting on the relationship amongst people, space, and the environment, it confronts the environmental crises we face today.
