The Analysis and Interpretation of Oskar Böhme Concerto in F minor for Trumpet and Orchestra
Oskar Böhme (1870–1938) was one of the most representative composer in Romantic era, and《Concerto in F minor》was premiered on June ninth in 1899. It is also always chosen from the trumpet works of the Russian romantic era by modern performers so far or as specified track in various international competitions and orchestra exams.
Besides, this work was the product of Soviet Westernization Policy which was based on the original western traditional harmony and theory, it was integrated with more features of Russian music and full of strong, rich emotions and Nationalism when it was created. It was different from those of the previous Baroque and Classical periods where the court and aristocracy were the mainstream music styles.
Oskar Böhme gave《Concerto in F minor》to Ferdinand Weinschenk(1831-1910), who was the Leipzig academy of music trumpet professor. The original spectrum was E minor and played by trumpet of A minor then it would be Increased semitone and adapted for B-flat-trumpets. The writer of this theory will focus on the background of Oskar Böhme, the inflection of Soviet trumpet in Romantic era and analysis of《Concerto in F minor》. At last I chose an annotated version of the performer to present detailed Interpretation. I hope this theory can help more and more students and readers who love trumpets have more deeply understand.
