Exploring Aesthetic Emotions of Generative Art ─A case Study of “sea-light” Interactive Generative Image
With the development of science and technology, art is beyond traditional media and has become toward new media creativity form. Computing technology originated for natural ecosystems or architectural simulation. In recent years, generative visualization arts with interactive projection have enhanced participants' understanding and perception. Thus the aesthetic emotions evaluation of generative art became the essential issue.
The study aims at exploring the techniques and processes of generative images through the interactive "sea-light" art and aesthetic evaluation. Firstly, literature reviews explore the process of generative image computing. Apply generative image production tools like TouchDesigner and Kinect to develop generative interactive art. Recruit three experts for in-depth interviews. Follow the feedback suggestions to improve the image design of the work. Finally, use aesthetic emotions questionnaire to measure the interactive "sea-light " art. The results show the positive effects of the "sea-light" generative interactive images on all aspects of the aesthetic emotions questionnaire. Besides, female viewers appear to have more pleasant emotions than male viewers. Above all, viewers could comprehend the artwork's naturally stimulating and artistic concept. The generative artwork's speed, color, and variability affect the viewers' respondents. Conclude one framework of generative interactive images for further research and creation.
