Born to a traditional family steeped in the clothing industry, the author has committed herself to passing on skills including the tailoring of silks, fabrics, and textiles, as they played a vital part throughout her life. Environmental changes, coupled with the convenience brought about by technological developments, have allowed apparel factories to come up with operation modes for mass-production, thereby replacing small and traditional industries. On top of that, apparel aesthetic in different social backgrounds had led to the exodus of secondary industries. Based on this backdrop, this creation explores the memories across generations shared by the author and her family, and the inheritance of traditions. The author also uses her own body to present the link between tailoring and women, to further discuss her role positioning and her memory of tailoring that bonds her family.

Titled The Time in Between, this creation depicts the memorial texts and images between the author and her family through interviews and listening, and serves as a reflection on their lives connected through blood ties. Seemingly daily actions like weaving, knitting, and spinning, long used for describing tailoring, are interwoven with female consciousness in art creation. Therefore, this creation attempts to connect the interactions between the author, her grandmother and mother through craftsmanship and memories as a continuation of inheritance, explore from within and intuitively describe their difficult circumstances in life, reflect on the life of females, and depict life stories in the said era.
