Abstract
This thesis discusses the author’s oil paintings created from 2020 to 2024, centered around themes of personal identity. Using the object of a "window" as the primary subject, the work explores the concept that human relationships and even daily life are symbolized by the imagery of a "window." The entire series is titled "Human Window Dialogues," reflecting the author’s reflections on "self-identity."
The thesis is divided into six parts. The first part introduces the motivation and purpose of the work, as well as the research methods and content. The second part delves into the core concept of "Human Window Dialogues," starting with the external form of the frame and moving towards an exploration of the deeper symbolic transformation of the frame on an internal level. This section also discusses how window frame elements can shift between different forms—serving as an object in literary narration or as a medium for information conveyance—thus allowing for analysis through sociological and psychological perspectives, which are then transformed into the "Human Window Dialogues" series. The third part investigates the artists referenced in the author's work, providing an in-depth understanding of both early and contemporary artists. The fourth part presents a detailed discussion of the creative thinking behind "Human Window Dialogues" and describes the concepts of the three sub-series within the project. The fifth part explains the creative concepts and materials used in the works, along with reflections and aspirations for the future.
