The study discusses the film “Me, 19” from different academic perspectives. Chapter 1 starts with motivation, background and research method and also outlines the reasons to make the film as well as general direction. In Chapter 2, through genre analysis and inter-comparison between films of different genres, historical context, historical data collection, film appreciation, the study tries to discuss the specific Asian style campus romance and categorize it into a certain genre by its features. In Section 2 of the chapter, other films of the same genre are compared to this film to testify genre elements and similarities/differences of techniques by which we can generalize historical context and practical marketing positioning. Chapter 3 elaborates on the theme and discussion on films with related themes. Meanwhile, the study probes into the core of this film, analyzes the theme and ideas and states the author’s point of view and essence of the work. Besides, we try to understand current development situation of this type of theme in discussion and acquire experiences by comparison with films of the same theme. Chapter 5 is about style and aesthetics. We discuss techniques of expression in all kinds of form, including performance, photography, sound, art, editing and special effect. Also we analyze the meaning of creation by formal aesthetics. In Chapter 6, through execution methods of the film, from preproduction, shooting to postproduction, we go further to describe every practical execution phase and gain a contour of this film from brainstorming, execution to completion. Chapter 7 is about the journal of creation and review of process, including details of the practical execution, difficulties encountered at that time, solution, evolution, which are used to self-review the whole execution process through the journal. Chapter 8 is a general review of the film. We try to sum up previous analyses and discussion in each chapter of the study and review the pros and cons of this film from a comprehensive and subjective point of view so as to learn more experiences and provide insights for future works.
