The topic of research is “Plant Healing”. In this research, it not only describes the author’s internal struggle and transformation in every stage of life but also outlines the tendency to escape and panic when the author encountered difficulties. By the conversion of painting, the author considered re-examining and adjusting of emotion state a way of self-healing. And plants as the subject of the author's creation came from the memories in daily life. The author found her own creating journey from realizing the nature that whether wild or cultivated plants abound in the energy of healing.
This thesis is divided into five chapters. The first chapter is the introduction which explains the role of plants in life, the motivation of the research, the purpose of creation, and expounds the research methods and contents respectively. The second chapter is based on the theoretical discussion of plant totem as the main axis, explaining the historical origin of plants as the subject of artistic creation, the healing method of mandala painting, and the symbol of flowers and plants and the choice of topics. Also, taking the works of three artists as examples to discuss and analyze their works of flowers and plants. The third chapter is the author's elaboration of self-healing in the creation, which is discussed in three directions of "non-daily events", "daily objects" and "bonsai of the small universe", and clarifies the self-projection part of the work as a creative discourse. Chapter 4 details the media and process of painting creation, as well as the color analysis of the work, and analyzes the three series of works "Emotional Cells", "Daily Details", and "Flowers and Plants". Chapter 5 is the conclusion and right Future prospects.
By studying works from 2014 to 2020, the author gradually clarifies the veins of personal creation and chooses to use "plants" as a single theme to develop. The author will continue to explore afterward and make new attempts in shape, color, and media. Hope that I will continue to learn and grow on the road of creation.
