Yao Tse An Flute Recital

臺北市立大學 / 音樂學系 / Author:Yao, Tse-An

Five works were selected this time. The style of the repertoire spans from the classical music period to the 20th century music. They are also one of the representative works of the period, allowing the audience to enjoy different musical colors in an hour's performance.

First one is W.A.Mozart: Rondo in D Major, K. Anh. 184 for Flute and Piano. Mozart’s music is a mature work of the classical period. Although the selected pieces are relatively short, they have a solid structure and simple musical form. Harmony, coordinated with the natural melody line, ingeniously connected in each section, Mozart’s light music style also allows the flexibility of the flute to be played; the second song is T. Boehm: Grand Polonaise in D Major, Op. 16 for Flute and Piano, is one of the composer’s most well-known pieces. As a flute player and instrument improver, Boehm cuts into the music with different identities and angles, and performs with the stable harmony of the classical music period. The magnificent melody, combined with the superb finger skills of playing the Boehm’s flute, has pushed the flute instrument to an unprecedented peak; The third song is Taffanel: Fantasie sur Françoise de Rimini pour flûte et piano, which is one of the many opera adaptations of the flute master Tafanel. It is a romantic period work. The repertoire is divided into three parts: aria, recitativo and dance. Beautiful arias and smooth recitativo. Under the composer’s ingenious design, the flute and the piano give full play to their own characteristics. The final Siverana and Saltarella are full of their own styles and also show The flute has a light and flexible tone; the fourth song is A. Jolivet: Chant de Linos pour flûte et piano. This piece belongs to the 20th century atonal music and is created with the concept of central sound. The composer has an understanding of ancient myths, spells, etc. I am very interested in supernatural things, so I use them as the motive and element of music. Semitones, increased intervals, and special harmony are often used in the repertoire to increase the mysterious atmosphere. The fast clusters in the decorative music are even more challenging to the player’s finger skills. And the control of qi is a very difficult repertoire; the fifth is C. Reinecke: Concerto in D Major for Flute and Orchestra Op. 283. one of the representative repertoires of flute during the romantic period, and it is also a designated piece for the finals of many international competitions. The style of the three movements can be roughly beautiful, melancholic and gorgeous. The sweet sound of the flute is used to play melody music, with thick texture and rich harmony, which contributes to this wonderful piece of music.
