The thesis is about the background of composition, the compositional concept and the techniques of electronic music, as well as the analysis of the four original music works of Hsiao Ti Wang’s concert.

The thesis is composed of five chapters. Chapter one presents the development of the electronic music and its representative works. Chapter two summarizes the acousmatic music, the soundscape and the mixed works and presents their motivation and application in author’s original compositions. Chapter three discusses the commonly used electronic music techniques which include the tape techniques, the synthesis techniques and other electronic music techniques. The related techniques are introduced as well in the chapter. Chapter four consists of the diverse discussions about the analysis of the four original music works. It includes the discussion about the inspiration of these compositions, the application of the acoustic materials, the analysis of the structures of these compositions and more detailed analysis of each paragraph. Chapter five, summarizes this thesis, gives an overall conclusion and ends with the reflection.
