This thesis studies my calligraphy and seal carving work that was created between 2012 and 2015. It contains the investigation before creating them, the consideration and limitation when creating them, the topics’ selection, the sources, the presentation of the works and their techniques. The creation includes the designs before creating these work, the thoughts when creating them and the mounting after finishing them, showing the comprisal of one art work.

　　One art work should include the design and composition before creating it. Therefore, I picked my idea of deriving the creation from forms of any composition or text as my motivation and the purpose of this study. I hope through studying and analyzing other artists’ creation’s thoughts, ideas, seal carving collections and other records can clarify the reasons and concepts of my creation.

　　The second and the third chapter discuss the composition from other seal carving work. The second chapter investigates the history of seal carving and the idea of combining calligraphy and seal carving together. It also talks about the combination of seal carving with different materials or work not traditionally seen in previous carvings. It also discusses how time changes the idea of creating art work, such as providing the idea of combining the writing style with seal carving. The third chapter studies my work from the concept to techniques I use. It also talks the idea of repairing old items and keeping them from Conservation and Preservation study. I then borrow this idea, focusing on the old style when creating my work. The mounting and framing also keeps this style.

　　The forth chapter analyzes my art work: focusing on the concepts of my calligraphy and seal carving work, corresponding with my studies and theories. The fifth chapter concludes the thoughts and my future expectations of myself.

　　Through the previous work from other artists, the related theories and research, I combine them with my concepts, providing a complete creation study.
