This thesis consists of the music commentary of "Solo Recital". The performance repertoire spans four different periods: Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Modern, respectively:
The first and the second piece: Domenico Scarlatti (1685-1757), an Italian composer during the Baroque period, "Piano Sonata in F major, K. 438", "Piano Sonata in f minor, K. 467". Scarlatti's sonatas are the greatest contribution in the history of music. With a total number of creations there are 555 pieces in total, which are arranged in order by key. They can be called the pioneers of the development of "sonatas".
The third piece: "Piano Sonata in E major, Op. 109" by classical trans-romantic composer Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827).
The fourth piece: Italian composer Ottorino Respighi’s (1879-1936) "Six Piano Pieces" is themed with salon style which includes many French salon elements, Baroque, Impressionism and Romanticism as for diverse musical forms, it includes waltz, cannon, nocturne, minuet, etudes, and intermezzos. This is suitable for playing in concert settings.
The fifth piece: Russian composer Serge Prokofiev (1891-1953) "Piano Sonata in F minor, Op. 1". Prokofiev's nine sonatas are different from previous works. once he said that he used five creative styles. One of the works uses classical musical form and romantic style.
The author who analyzes the careers of composers depends on their creative features. I would like to take this opportunity to understand deeper the harmony, Piano technique and Music form by writing this thesis. Furthermore, I hope I can apply on my performance in the future, so that I can convey the spirits that the composers wanted to express to this world.
