This master’s thesis is comprised of two separate parts. The first part includes the original composition for orchestra entitled “Sea World”, accompanying program notes and an analysis of that composition provided by the author. The analysis includes discussion of the composition’s formal structure, source materials and compositional techniques.

The second part includes a recording of, as well as the complete program and program notes of the author’s graduate composition recital, which took place on 14 June,2012 and included original solo instrumental and chamber works. The compositions performed included: Duo for Violin and Cello, Three Pieces for Violin, Uncooperative Band for Quintet, Trip for Trio, Moods for Octet.
