《焦點之外》

國立臺灣藝術大學 / 傳播學院影音創作與數位媒體產業碩士班 / Author:CHEN, KO-EN

“Black Hole” is a narrative short film that portrays the struggles of creation and a crisis of self-identity. The story follows Lin Guang, a film school student on the verge of dropping out, stands at the edge of the system. Facing the impact of a rapidly changing era, he searches for what filmmaking truly means to him. His struggle to hold on to his ideals reveals the sense of uncertainty that many young people face when pressured by reality. The film is grounded in realism, blending nonlinear storytelling with a poetic visual style. It attempts to reflect the fragmentation and reconstruction of the protagonist’s inner world through the reassembly of events. Through this work, the filmmaker seeks to explore personal anxieties surrounding the act of creation, while also offering emotional and intellectual resonance to other creators navigating similar states of confusion.

This creative thesis offers a comprehensive account of the making “Black Hole”, beginning with the background and motivation behind the project. It incorporates related research conducted during the process, as well as analyses of comparable film works, in an attempt to re-examine and critically reflect on the film from a broader perspective.
