A study of the composition style in Brahms' later period – focus on op.116/Eating Shaw Piano Recital's Cover

Johannes Brahms (1833-1897) was born in Romanticism Ages, with a soul unrestrained yet suppressed. Often referred as the last successor of Neoclassicism , Brahms firmly held the seriousness of the Classical and poured in romantic elements. His works are not beautifully wrapped, but they are introspective and organized. This study used 116, Brahms' work in his later period, as an example and tried in every possible aspects to discuss how he integrated the essences of his compositions and how his life reflected his music. The author added the discussion and interpretation of the performance as well as the comparison of other experts’ performances, making this study of Brahms’s style and features more comprehensive.
