The theme of this research work is a sense of Lostness. From the year 2004 to 2012, the creator expresses the creating progress and mental state through the experiments and explorations of creating pieces with metals by using his own life experiences and the elements of lostness in the city. In the era of technology, people are accustomed to interacting with others using various media devices. Physical mails and paying visits to friends and relatives are replaced by emails and web cams. The detailed information, comments, and photos can be found online before visiting any restaurant or recreational spot. The convenience of technology has made meeting needs faster for people, but it certainly lacks human warmth. Living in the present, people should preserve the compulsion of experiencing things in person. In this complex and highly changeable environment, artists are drifters in the city who observe the surrounding in a third person perspective. The heavy pressure of life, the impurities and noises in the air, and the crowded streets packed with people and cars portrait modern cities. Drenching in the turmoil in the society and the quarrels among people, we lose the motives to pursue our goals and the emotions related to lostness are growing. However, we can’t part with the environment. Once we are captured by the sense of lostness, our soul can’t be calm and we miss many surprises in the familiar routine. Nowadays, sculptures can display original models, quantification, and space through new materials and manufacture as well as convey certain concepts with recorded images. The author chooses to return to the wonderland filled with reality and illusion in the subconsciousness by forging steel and iron directly, explore the ordinary things in the surrounding through the means of excavating and introspection. This dissertation is written based upon the author, creating the tension of contradiction that matches the inner world with art history and aesthetics and providing proof based on psychology and philosophy in the hope to express the realistic aspects of the society with diverse works.
