7 Seconds of a Life Time is a short film about 30 minutes, which broadcast in Innovative Story program on the Public Television Service (PTS) on 28th February 2016. It tells a story about how a teenage girl, Jessie faces the divorce of her parents. Her mom changes the gas service, which was run by the family into a breakfast store. Her mom throws away the motorcycle, which her dad used to deliver the gas barrel. To Jessie, the old motorcycle is not only the memory, but also symbolizes the whole picture of a family. Therefore, Jessie makes her decision to learn how to ride it and pass the “7 seconds test” to get her drive license.

In this essay, an analysis of the theme, genre and creative process is carried out. In terms of subject matter, Boyhood (2014) serves as important reference. The discussion focuses on how the psychological changes are brought to Jessie in a broken family.

When analyzing the genre, 7 Seconds of Life Time is refer to“ coming-of-age” genre. Every aspect of the creative process of 7 Seconds of Life Time, including scriptwriting, acting, cinematography, lighting, production design, editing and music, is thoroughly analyzed.
