The author quote the theory and experience of making “Xiao”that Liao Jin-Dong has to understand the sounding theory of open-hole edge tone instruments, Chinese bamboo flutes. By studying the physiological mechanism about playing Chinese bamboo flutes and understanding the sounding theory of them, the reasonable methods to play Chinese bamboo flutes could be designed, and the requests in the teaching materials or during the studying process could be mastered. Moreover, the author explain the techniques in playing “Bamboo Flute Concerto” and “Zou-Xi-Kou” with this theory.
