This thesis consists in three parts:1. the program notes of the Performance Recital . 2. the program notes of the Solo Recital. 3. The conference paper.
The program of the Performance Recital includes A. Piazzolla《Oblivion for Piano Trio》, F. Chopin《Cello Sonata in g minor, Op. 65》, A. Ginastera《Pampeana No.2, Op. 21, Rhapsody for Violoncello and Piano》, and G. Gershwin《Fragment for Four Celli》.
The program of the Solo Recital includes S. Rachmaninoff 《Vocalise, Op.34, No. 14 for Cello and Piano》, B. Sheng 《Seven Tunes Heard in China for Solo Cello:III&VII》, P. de Sarasate《Zigeunerweisen, Op. 20 for Cello and Piano》, and D. Shostakovich《Cello Sonata in d minor, Op. 40》.
The last part is the conference paper - “the analysis and interpretation of Chopin’s Cello Sonata in g minor, Op.65.” The paper contains discussion about composer’s life, composition background, music style, music structure, harmonic analysis, and performance interpretation.
