Compared to the overall image and positioning of signage systems in foreign zoos, Taipei Zoo's environmental signage system lacks uniqueness and recognition. However, optical illusions, as a visual phenomenon, have the potential to bring new design possibilities to zoo signage, thereby enhancing the recognition and appeal of Taipei Zoo's environmental signage system. Therefore, this creative research aims to integrate the design techniques of optical illusions with the zoo's environmental signage system. By combining the signage with dynamic animal images, visitors can gain a more intuitive understanding of animal characteristics and behavior, enriching their zoo experience. Simultaneously, this integration enhances the visual appeal of the signage and offers more inspiration for the future development of the zoo's environmental signage system.

This creative research starts with literature review and case analysis, summarizing the compositional techniques of optical illusions and the characteristics and advantages of signage systems in well-known foreign zoos. Subsequently, through on-site observations and photographic documentation, the specific issues in Taipei Zoo's environmental signage system are examined, and comparisons are made between domestic and international zoo signage systems in terms of design and functionality. Finally, a survey is conducted to gather more representative data supporting the viewpoints of the research argument. Integrating the above findings, the synthesis is applied to the creation of Taipei Zoo's environmental signage system. By combining optical illusions with animal characteristics, the aim is to enhance the signage's recognition and interactivity, presented in physical exhibitions to provide viewers with a deeper understanding of the practical application value of optical illusions in zoo signage.
