As poets writes poem; painters paint with colours; how can a lighting designer use light and shadows to create experience? Nowadays, different kinds of performance are mixing and creating new trends. How can we finding out the uniqueness of each performance and create special moments for all audience?

This thesis attempts to review the lighting design of three performances held between 2014 to 2015: 《L’aide‐Memoire》、《The highest place》and《Red Demon》designed by the writer. Once again, by re‐digest the questions coming from the pieces and the solutions came up by the writer to tackle them, aimed at analyzing how a design idea is formed and how it can be transferred to a performable lighting language and finally how it can be

worked out. At the same time, concluding the strengths and weaknesses of these methods, wishing to improve the abilities in the future.
