Claude Debussy (1862- 1918) was born in the mid-nineteenth century and died in the twentieth century. During this period, various schools of philosophy and music often in disagreement with one another, emerged among artists and musicians who took influence by the trend of thoughts due to immense social revolutions. Regarding the musical development, Debussy plays a critical role he broken with tradition in terms of musical form and musical structure in composition. As a French pioneer of modernism in music, Debussy stood his ground and developed a new musical language, leading the musical world of the twentieth century.

This thesis content four chapters. The first chapter is divided into two sections, the fitst, research motivation and purposes, the second, scope of the study range and research method. The second chapter has three sections, the first, Debussy’s biography, the second, Debussy’s piano works and musical characteristics of different periods, the third, “children’s corner” works background and musical characteristics. In order to understand Debussy’s musical content and characteristics, the third chapter provided a musical analysis and interpretation of Debussy’s Children's Corner by analysing compositional techniques such as harmony, musical form, materials, and musical structure Through discussing performance techniques and styles, bring music closer to the composer’s conceptualization.The final chapter is research summary and my empirical research on the impact of the fourth chapter.
