This interpretive report is divided into four sections: Chapter One presents this report’s introduction. Chapter Two is the repertoire interpretations of the degree recital. Chapter Three is the repertoire interpretations of the graduation recital, and Chapter Four includes the conclusions and the reflections.
For the degree recital, the author performed a collection of art songs from various composers spanning from the Romantic to the 20th century. The repertoire included Roger Quilter's (1877~1953) "3 Songs, Op. 3" and "3 Shakespeare Songs, Op. 6", Amy Beach's (1865~1944) "Three Browning Songs, Op. 44", and selections from Richard Strauss's (1864~1949) "Sechs Lieder von Clemens Brentano, Op. 68" such as "An die Nacht", "Ich wollt ein Sträusslein binden", and "Säus'le, liebe Myrte!" Additionally, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's (1756~1791) arias and sacred music were included, featuring "Batti, Batti, O bel Masetto", "Una donna quindici anni", and a Motet. Arthur Sullivan's (1842~1900) "The sun whose rays are all ablaze", Charles-François Gounod's (1811~1893) "Je veux vivre", and other pieces were also part of the performance.
The graduation recital was centered on musicals, Broadway songs and Disney musicals. The repertoire included George Gershwin's (1898~1937) "Summertime", Richard Rodgers's (1920~1979) "Out of my dreams" , "Sixteen going on seventeen", "The sound of music", and "My favorite things", Ferdinand Loewe's (1865~1925) "I could have danced all night", Claude-Michel Schönberg's
(B. 1944) "I Dreamed a Dream" and "On My Own" and “Too much for one heart”, Andrew Lloyd Webber's (B. 1948) "Memory", "Think of me", and "Wishing you were somehow here again", Alan Menken's (B. 1949) "Home" and “Beyond my wildest dreams”, Stephen Flaherty's (B. 1960) "In my dream", "Once upon a December" and "Journey to the past", and Zina Goldrich's (B. 1964) "Alto’s lament". Furthermore, selections from Arthur Sullivan's (1842~1900) opera, including "Poor wandering one" were also performed.
