The combination of ethnic music and Western music is one of the common compose methods. Gradually, commercial music has become more and more widely used. This article will analyze the modern shakuhachi works and explore the creative methods of combining Western music after the Meiji Restoration, and actually compose.

The first chapter is the introduction, which introduces the motivation and purpose of this research. The second chapter is the literature discussion, exploring the five-chapter creation technique of Makoto's works five pieces for shakuhachi and the modern shakuhachi compose technique. The third chapter is composition examples and analysis, taking the author's works of internal music, bamboo sings as an example.
