Analysis and Interpretation of theConcerto for Viola with Orchestra, op. posth.by Béla Bartók (1881- 1945)'s Cover

Temporarily unlisted

Because of the emergence of many fabulous musicians during 19th and 20th century, there were more and more composers composing music for the viola. Bartok is not only one of the greatest musicians of the 20th century, but his music also has great significant influences on the viola concertos

This thesis has three parts: the beginning is the introduction of Bartok’s life, background of composition, and masterpieces; the second part is the analysis of the constructions, musical forms, harmony, and musical phrases of the three movements; the last part is concluded with my personal opinions by interpreting the concerto and comparing different editions. Furthermore, I hope that, through this thesis, many musical learners and listeners who are unfamiliar with viola repertoires could easily understand and really enjoy the musical characteristics of Bartok more.
