With the rapid evolution of advanced technology, interpersonal communication has transitioned from face-to-face dialogue to online interaction, with emoticons emerging as the symbolic ones of the new generation. While the Internet offers convenience, it also introduces the challenge of miscommunication due to the inability to perceive the interlocutor's tone and facial expressions, leading to errors in communication. Kaomoji, composed of globally recognized symbols, serve as effective supplements to convey accurate emotions.
This creative study focuses on the immersive presentation of Y2K-style emoticons, confined to the kaomoji keyboard integrated within iphones. Commencing with a review of literature to comprehend the evolution of kaomoji, immersive presentation techniques, and trends in 3D design, the study then synthesizes Y2K -style expressive forms through case analyses, followed by the selection of 10 samples via survey analysis. Integrating the aforementioned outcomes, the study applies them to the 3D dynamic design of Y2K -style kaomoji, imbuing kaomoji with texture, sound effects, and motion to materialize emotional features and explore the potential of kaomoji in three-dimensional development. Finally, the study presents 10 pieces of 3D dynamic imagery in an exhibition format, merging interactive devices with immersive exhibition design to evoke emotional and sensory resonance among users, thereby fostering greater awareness of youth culture within the Y2K trend. Future endeavors may integrate digital interactive technologies such as Touch Designer or generative art to enhance viewers' sensory experiences and provide references for subsequent studies.
