情生藝動－以花鳥繪畫探索台灣意象-55
In this paper, based on a series of bird-and-flower paintings of which the subject matter is the endemic birds and plants of Taiwan, I aim to explore the image of Taiwan from the aspect of its species.
There are six chapters in this paper: Chapter 1 is the introduction where the purpose, the scope, the limitation, and the research method of the paper are explained; Chapter 2 reviews the literature on the definition of the image of Taiwan, studies on the use of empty space and the analysis of colored ink paintings, and theories about vision and visualization, such as the visual activity of human, the elements of visualization in paintings, and the visual experience; Chapter 3 describes the concepts behind the paintings discussed in this paper and the techniques used, such as how the works were composed and how a certain effect was created; Chapter 4 explains the creation process, including the gathering of information on the anatomy of birds and plants, the subject matter (the endemic birds and plants of Taiwan), the topic of the series (the four seasons), the main techniques and the medium; Chapter 5 interprets and analyzes the series The Date of Spring, The Chorus of Summer, The Encounter of Autumn, and The Whisper of Winter; Chapter 6 presents the conclusion in which the works are inspected in respect of color, composition and conception, and, finally, I will explain the mood in which I created the works, some changes in my creation, my expectation of the works, and what I hope to achieve in the future.
