This article aims to interpret and analyze Sergei Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No. 1 in D major composed in 1917. We sketches Prokofiev’s biography and the style of his creation, followed by the research of the background and characteristics of this composition based on the development of concertos throughout history. At the end, we investigate the interpretation of this concerto via structural analysis in order to acquire the ideal way of performance.
