The altered illusion in microcosmic – 29's Cover

This creation statement contains art works of the author from 2008 to 2012. The author continued communicating with the inner self, and exploring the connection between self and the environment during the period, then, transform the conception with micro-narrative. In this thesis, the author will develop the statement and creation practice from these conception. It starts with the self-viewing of the author, to discuss how to present the internalize emotions through series of art creation from the life experience of disease and senses, spread from inside to outside in between the connection of self, environment and the world, create the spiritual illusion from internalizing the positive and negative energy. Accumulating creative thoughts from life experience, and find out the entity in the spiritual illusion through the creation. The author intends to combine and analyze these experiences with aesthetics and art theories in the following chapters.

The thesis contains five chapters:

Chapter 1: Introduction.

Describe self-experience and analyze the syndromes of Hyperthyroidism, Seborrhoeic dermatitis and Mitral valve prolapse. Provide brief description of research method and terms explanation. Focus on the motive of creation and self-exploration through elaborating the life the author has been through. The author intends to reach the breakthrough and curing through art creation.

Chapter 2: Theoretical background.

By the reference of art history, connecting the creation concept and the intention of the author.

Chapter 3: Creation concept analysis.

There are five art works series of the author. The author will explain the style of the early period, motivation and the transition to the later period. Including the practice media, conversion of the creative habit, varies intentions of the works, and analyzing the elements in common.

Chapter 4: The interpretation of the works.

In this chapter, the author will further analyze the concept, motivation, media and techniques, and the presenting patterns of the five series: “Micro-fabrication / Metamorphosis”, “Sweet variation I / II”, “-50℃ Micro-penetration”, “If I can breath again”, and “Obscuration”.

Chapter 5: Conclusion.

Integrate the conversion of the state of mind on the art creation and text between 2009 and 2011 from the previous chapters, and emerge a stage of conclusion and the prospect for the future.
