Robot is a common name for the automatic machine, which is constructed to simulate the animal and human behavior, or even more sophisticated, the human intelligence. However, the classification of Robot is still a controversial issue. Simply speaking, Robot is intuitively known as a kind of machine instrument invented to assist or even take human’s place in working.

In the movie or animation, it often plays a role in striking the crimes, or represents the artificial intelligence. Further, being made of steel, iron, and the other hard materials, the Robot is usually presented as a heroic figure which gives a sense of security to the audience. Yet, after the period of time and the evolution of technology, the Robot’s figure is changing from purely automatic machine into an intelligent and even emotional creation. From generalizing the commonality of Robot’s images, this research is dedicated to draw a time line of Robot evolution through the development of movies and animations.
