In today's modern society, the mere act of living is an inescapable challenge for humanity.
In recent years, Taiwan's urban renewal has faced many issues. The objective of this study is to record the challenges of Taiwan's urban renewal by photography and qualitative research. This study combines the past and the new architectural memories through a series of photos, presented in the form of "collage photography". The study tells the reader a story about what is happening in the area, and all the observed historical scenes are put together with the present ones. All photos show different people and things at different times, showcasing the changes that have occured in an area over time. These photos encourage viewers to reflect on urban renewal issues with a mind as to what is possible, thus delimiting the bounds of our imagination as to what we can do in the present.
The study will be a powerful call to action in provoking the audience's attention, making them consider the social issues caused by urban renewal, which also provides a reference for social welfare projects, civic renewal and urban beautification or other relevant creative research on this topic.
