In the informationized society, both individuals and enterprises are facing problems and pressure brought up by the ever-changing environment, which has led to the hollowing out of people’s physical and spiritual life. These problems are in desperate need of solutions. Recent business management strategies have demonstrated how a design can manage the identical situation in the technical or marketing aspect, which is an outcome of the competition between similar businesses, and how they make profits by creating differences among similar products. Cleverly incorporating the CIS(Corporate Identity System)into image packing, many enterprises have successfully added visual elements to the products and introduced aesthetics to the products to increase their values. By doing so, their products can convey the enterprise concepts to consumers, which will eventually be rooted deeply in the buyers’ minds. If such business practice can be applied to the promotion and advertisement of public welfare activities, significant benefits can be expected. In fact, the real benefits of attending social welfare activities come from the emotional harvest and spiritual satisfaction, which can not be measured by monetary profits.
This creation is done for an activity sponsored by Eden Social Welfare Foundation based on the enterprises -academic cooperation. In the design, the concepts of the activity— Hope, Company, and Love— were converted into visual signs through the visual identity design and the mascot’s conformation design to provide the activity with visual effects and a cheerful atmosphere in order to accomplish the true purpose of the activities. In particular, the visual identity design also significantly increased the substantial benefit of public the activity and carried through the faith behind them. With the power of the sensitivity created by the mascot, the activity improved its overall identity and thus became more amusing. In addition, the interaction between active and passive attendants was enhanced, making them more spiritually connected, which was exactly the purpose of the public welfare activity. Meanwhile, the author’s personal experience in the activity was also integrated into the creation and then turned into visual elements, which not only expressed the author’s feeling but also allowed the author to arouse resonance among the viewers.
The creation was presented with three features: the design of active publicity, the mascot’s conformation design, and the graphic design. Among them, active publicity was the fundamental requirement of this activity, in which the two-dimensional mascot appearing in the promotion documents were presented in three-D for a stereoscopic effect. However, many ideas were not fully realized and produced due to pragmatic considerations. Nevertheless, these ideas then became my personal creations for future reference.
The final official statistics showed that the creation helped the Foundation successfully collect 350 wheelchairs, marking a prefect period for the activity.
