The topic of this creation research is “movement of spatial awareness”. Through the author’s exploration of spatial perception, it contains the discussion of abstract expressionism and introduces the creations for exhibition. By observing, capturing the instant of changes generated by continuous movements of travelers and the vision to feel the sway and the involvement in the moment, it is transformed to a manifestation of the creation research.

The direction of creation for the art work contains two parts. First part aims to describe a space to manifest through adding linear, horizontal and repeated geometric modeling elements in the scene, building a balanced dynamic position as entering the time space of a moving high speed rail way. Second part is by filming the spatial awareness in the life, through the moveable scene outside from the windows on a moving high speed rail way, observing and matching author’s own memories to integrate and compose the dynamics of passing time for the core value of creation.

The thesis contains five chapters. The first chapter “Introduction” illustrates the motivation, purpose and the method of study. The second chapter is to probe literature review based on theory fundamental of abstract art. The third chapter analyzes the collage art of this study and illustrates the creation concept. The fourth chapter is the instruction for the core value of the creation via a series of art work “movement of spatial awareness”. It also contains the work appreciation by illustrating the practical creation through the explanation of medium use. The fifth chapter is the conclusion and expectation of this creation research and reflection of the work.
