The main discussion of the study focused on the author’s artworks and creative process. The author started on traditional human sculpture, but then soon found out other artistic expression methods. At first, the author reviewed the sculpting process of finished and unfinished (non-finito) artworks and discovered his interest in surface patterns of different materials. The author then explored the connections between painting and residual color blocks on the geometric design surface, hence opening alternative ways of thinking and experiments about space. The author studied and thought about creating the visual perception of space, transposition of two-dimensional and three-dimensional space, the coexistence of virtual and real space, and plane characteristics of three-dimensional space. After a sequence of research, the author regarded the existence of imaginary lines as the ‘core’ and ‘fun’ of space art. In the study process, discussions on how objects occupy space also had the author’s attention. Where it is putting the imaginary lines into the space differentiation, or removing the imaginary lines and use the physical object directly, the research process helped the author to accumulate more creative energy and motivation, and hence developed into creative artwork.
During the sculpting process, the author decided to have a temporary stop. Hence, the artwork delivers the meaning of a moment of eternal existence. The unfinished work is a selective choice, a form of art or technique that plays with the feeling or state of eternal pause.
