Author’s sexuality is female, who undergoes the unique experiences of the female body. This reason leads to the Author feeling a sense of differentiation and alienation. Being a female and following the real feelings of the body and mind becomes the impressive issues to connect with the Author. Perhaps depending on the influence of menstrual period more than others, on the other hand, it turns into the major muses of the Author’s work. The study uses both the bodily space and psychological space aspects under the menstrual event being a main description object. Specifically, the article focuses on somatic perceptions which includes various personal emotions. It not only discusses over broken individual emotions, but also on how to find more possibilities of bodies in different situations from private experiences to refine.
The author of the thesis adopts her personal experiences as a start to discuss the possibilities of somatic experience to transform into images. With regards to phenomenologists emphasizing the things themselves, she recalls to the things or people to amplify and focus on somatic perception. By exploring perceptions, inward and outward extension of the body, the visualization of emotions and perceptions, and her methods of creation considers a kind of analysis of in terms of psychological activity to express emotions and feelings. Moreover, the author proposes a solution in which using “images” reflects the situations of privacy. Last but not least, the article explains her practical approaches of creations and uses the works in exhibitions as cases to illustrate how she applies the image of her own space and feelings into works.
