Taiwanese composer Yiu-Kwong Chung has been actively experimenting with different types of new compilations and integrating artistic performances from other arts in his works. He has created various music theatre pieces, which always allow the audience acquired various experience.

“Nuowu” was a percussion pieces commissioned by Taiwanese percussionist Yu-Tzu Lu in 2007. “Nuowu” is one of the Sacrifice Ritual in the "Nuo" culture in China. This piece needs to be accompanied by a dancer(s).

This thesis is divided into five chapters: the first chapter is the preface, including the introduction of the piece, research purpose, research method and scope; the second chapter is the composer's background an overview of the composition style; the third chapter is the analysis of "Nuowu" on the structure and motive’s variation techniques in detail; the fourth chapter is the interpretation and practice of the music performance of “Nuowu”. In this chapter, I will describe diverse considerations when performing "Nuowu"; chapter five is the conclusion.
