The research topic of this paper is beiguan new style theater Hulugu. I explore the characteristics of the beiguan theater inherited from beiguan master Zhuang Jin-Cai by individual's learning experience and the results of my graduation concert. Firstly, I listed all the beiguan theater manuscripts about the Three Kingdoms owned by Zhuang Jincai and collected the repertoire of the same story exited in various theater genres in different parts of China. After that, I compare the differences between Zhuang's version and the others'. Secondly, I made an interpretive record and analysis of the vocal Melo-metric tunes used in beiguan new style theater Hulugu taught by Zhuang Jin-Cai, including Erhuang(二黃), Xipi(西皮), Xipi-erban(西皮二板), Erhuang-chui(二黃吹), Erhuang-doaban(二黃倒板), Erhuang-jinban(二黃緊板), Fan-erhuang-jinban(反二黃緊板) and Fan-erhuang-doaban(反二黃倒板). Finally, I summarized the musical characteristics of Xipi-erban(西皮二板)and Erhuang-erban(二黃二板) inherited from master Zhuang by comparison and analysis.
