Taiwan has evolved and transformed into a multi-cultural country through different customs, languages and religions. Therefore, there are a lot of tales which have evolved over time and specific historic events have been noted during the transformation.

My design introduces you to the cultural and geographical features of Yilan - a very special city in Taiwan. My idea is inspired by the tale ‘The Princess of Kamalan’ and ‘The Turtle General’. I illustrated the tales, in turn creating a new way to capture viewer’s attention. My design allows the viewer to have a better understanding of how the culture and custom in Yilan was developed in the past and how it has evolved into the diverse city that it is today.

To achieve this design concept, thorough research was conducted and interviews with Yilan historical experts were analysed. To enhance my design, additional elements such as "Guishan Eight Views", "Legendary Scenery", "Terrain Scenery"from significant landscapes in Yilan have been included in the illustartion. This re-creates a new way of promoting unique geographical features of the city. The “winding” technique (used in the digital space) was applied to emphasize the vision of colours.

In conclusion, the inspiration drawn from the tales and depicted in my design will ulti-mately ensure the customs and cultural values will be remembered and carried forward by future generations. through the deuelopment of the local-cultral pedagogy of Yilan lefgnd.
