The reason that we think the moving rhythm of natural object between “dynamics” and “statics” is an art, only because of the beauty coming from its dancing motions. Moving or rest, the motions create perpetual energy which is fulfilled by the running rhythm and the dynamic form of life. In the non-dualism of Zen, when the artists “observe directly” an object, they always do it with all their sensibility really deep inside them. And this makes two aspects of an object. On One side, it’s “Feeling”. We feel naturally all the things in between the “dynamic” and “static” state: they fulfill, depend, contest and compensate each other; On the other side, “Dynamics” and “statics” are not isolated aspects of the dualism, but work together as a joint stream of philosophy and view of the universe, both of them are unity and opposite. The associations on exploring all things in nature combine with the spirit of the explorers making the creativity of arts. Such an inspiration is the origin of my works which focus on the reflection of author’s emotions from life, within human and nature, nature and spirit.
“Move, calm, place”, as the subject of works, is an exploration on the tension of natural movement from the river. Water and stones involving in the rhythm of dynamics and statics demonstrate the beauty of life. Author layers them with mixed medium and natural curves. By way of direct observation and personal experience with Zen, all works express themselves in a primitive method. Fused with the oriental and occidental artistic elements” point, line, plane”, these works not only manifest their representation but also their inside meaning, broadcasting fusion of images and spirit, with “ human”, “nature”, “spirit” and in “ move, calm, place”.
There are 5 series within 3 themes in these works: “dynamic state”- Whirl , Bay; “static state”- Puddle, Real; “place”- boundless.
