Belonging is about the struggle of a female migrant worker who is drifting in Taiwan. She hesitates whether she should sacrifice her ideal life when facing various life-threatening condition.

This film is mainly based on my study abroad experience and observation on Taiwan society. I told it from the perspective of a female migrant worker, hoping to use her internal conflict between desire and reality to depict the struggle of a drifter.

This thesis elaborates the main theme and the origin of creating this film, it includes a lot of fieldwork on Southeast Asia migrant workers in Taiwan. Then, the thesis further discusses the aesthetics of this film from genre, script, performance, cinematography, art design and etc. Eventually, I will talk about the making process of this film and my reflection on the whole production.
